FIRST is the forum for Internet retailers, sellers & traders who have now been inducted in the definition of micro, small and medium enterprises under the MSMED Act 2006. The main objective of this forum is to act on a consultative basis at national level to help central and state governments and public institutions in creating a better framework for retail and wholesale trade while enabling and enhancing the participation of traders, retailers & merchants. FIRST aims to work towards professionalisation, standardisation and self-regulation of the digital commerce industry.
Retailers, sellers, and traders face a number of challenges, such as digital disruption, finding solutions to match changing consumer expectations, modern marketing techniques, market segment retention, and a shortage of positions involving direct contact with customers. The priority areas on which the discussions would take place at the summit are Reimagining Customer relations, Supply & Value Chain Resiliency and Embracing the Digital Revolution.
