National Industry Council

The National Industry Council serves as the National Advisory Body of FIRST India. The council meets quarterly to gather and discuss trends, issues, and opportunities facing the Retail & Trading Sector in a neutral environment.

The council shall:

Deliberate and advise the Governing Body and Management on suggestive solutions and recommendations to representations to relevant offices/ministries of the Centre/State Governments.
Provide advice to safeguard FIRST India’s mandate to enable entrepreneurs from the Retail sector with necessary subject matter knowledge & leadership skills to meet the needs of the industry.
Facilitate a dialogue with industry leaders to outline the scope of sectoral opportunities.
Offer guidance on the development of relevant capacity building training programs/facilitation for FIRST India members to help them advance their business.
Mentor and support initiatives that foster advancement and collaborations across the industry.
Advise on creating avenues to engage and network with business connections and partnerships across sectors.
Lead representations to relevant Government offices.
Lead business delegations as and when decided by the Governing Body of FIRST India.

Advisory Board

Functions as an advisory body to the National Council comprising of former Bureaucrats and Policy Makers apart from Retail Experts and Eminent persons of high repute. Advisory Board members, Corporate Patrons, Partners and other stakeholders are often invited to share their experiences & knowledge in the National Council meetings, but they have no voting or veto rights.
